Dr. Mohammed Farouk Taha ABOUELFARAG, MD, MBA
Dr. Farouk is a medical doctor with dual post graduate degrees in Transfusion Medicine and Healthcare Business Administration from Cairo University, Egypt and Union Graduate University, USA, respectively. Dr. Farouk also holds certificates on Patient Blood Management and Research Methodologies from Society for the Advancement of Blood Management and University of Maryland, USA, respectively.
Over his career path in both public and private sectors, he developed a special interest and experience in transfusion medicine, healthcare management and policy, Health Management Information Systems, and research methodologies. Among other posts during his 20+ years of experience in the development and medical fields, he served as the key expert for several EU technical assistance programs and Swiss Red Cross development projects in Asia, Africa, Middle East, and Balkan regions.
Currently he is heading the Health Management and Research unit at the Cairo-based Center for Development Services, and he is serving as the Accreditation Manager – Anglophone at the Africa Society for Blood Transfusion.
